KATHMANDU:  After beating Turkmenistan by 4-0 Nepal has advanced to second round of AFC Under-16 Football Championship after seven years. Nepal edged Turkmenistan with 4-0 goal difference in the last match of group selection round of group ‘C’ played at the Dasharath Stadium this evening.

With this prevail Nepal become winner of the grou ‘C’ and advanced to second round which is going to held on Thailand in 2014.

Nepal has earlier played this in 2002 and 2006. This is the third time to play on AFC U-16 for Nepal.

Nepal has graved this success with Nepali team Captain Bimal Ghartimagar’s Hat-trick. Likewise striker Dinesh Rajbamshi had added a goal in the match. Bimal has so far scored 11 goals from eight internal matches. Nepal secured seven points by registering two wins and one draw in the tournament.

Nepal got this great chance when Iraq had gone. On the first match played today Bahrain had beat Iraq by 2-1. With six point from three match Bahrain become group second.
