SPORTS FED. TO MARK WORLD TOURISM DAY

KATHMANDU: The Mountain Sports Federation Nepal, an adventure and tourism sports organization, is going to mark the 34th World Tourism Day on September 27 by organizing various adventure sports events.

The federation had organized some six types of sports competition last year on the occasion of World Tourism Day on 27th September and has made preparation to mark the day by organizing different types of sports competitions this year also, said Yub Raj Lama, Member Secretary of National Sports Council. Lama is also the President of the Mountain Sports Federation Nepal.

Different sports organizations are going to be held on the occasion including the inter college rock climbing competition on Thursday, rafting competition on Monday, amateur golf course and Himalayan hills cross country cycling from Budhanilkantha to Chisapani on Saturday.

The slogan the federation has set for the occasion this year is- Let’s Promote Tourism and Save the Environment through Sports, said Govinda Bhattari, general secretary at the federation.
